Why Join a Professional Association?

Colleagueship: Associations are the primary way people do face-time networking with people who share in their professional interests. Education: Insurance is a changing field. It can take years for good research to make it into print. Workshops and conferences sponsored by a professional organization allows you to be on the cutting edge. Financial Benefits: organizations can take advantage of member rate discounts. Professional Influence: Associations give you a voice. Participating in committees gives you a chance to let Board members know where you stand on certain political issues. The Board can then give input to government agencies about proposed policies and changes which could impact you and those you serve.

Our History

The Independent Insurance Agents of Houston (IIAH) is a nonprofit trade association of local Houston area independent insurance agencies and affiliate companies. Chartered by the State of Texas in 1924, it is the largest local independent insurance agent association in the US. More on history

Committees

The strength of IIAH is due to the volunteer efforts of our members. Without volunteers we could not provide the services our members have grown to expect. We currently have nine working committee representing over 100 volunteers. For more information on our committees click here.
