IIAH's Legislative Committee in conjunction with IIAT and IIABA's Governmental Affairs team works on a bipartisan basis—through lobbying, hands-on grassroots activities and media outreach—to educate lawmakers on legislative issues critical to independent insurance agents and brokers.

Special focus is made to protect the interests of our agent and broker members through common-sense, pragmatic legislative initiatives that protect small businesses while keeping the consumer in mind. Through intensive lobbying efforts, we seek to educate lawmakers and convince them to pass legislation that will preserve the viability and prosperity of independent insurance agents and brokers in Houston, Texas and across America.
